This paper to which Dr. Rodney Westerlaken contributed (the paper has 15 authors!) highlights the danger of ethnography and in particular the danger of using just one source (facebook) and language (English) and ignoring the nuances and cultural references in language. It suggests that the paper by Coram et al. (2021) only paints a partial picture and does not adequately recognise the amount of work being done to research marine mammal strandings in Southeast Asia.
