Webinar on Circular Hotel Procurement organized by MVO Nederland for the hospitality sector on Bali

On April 8 MVO Nederland (the Dutch CSR overall organisation) organised a webinar on Circular Hotel Procurement for the hospitality sector on Bali.

Lauren Blasco, owner of the sustainable hotel chain Potatohead, Leontine van Eerden, Sustainable Development manager at Accor Hotel Benelux, UK and Ireland, and Elena Cavagnaro were invited as panellists. Saskia Penning, tourism expert at MVO Nederland, led the webinar.

The webinar reached 30 entrepreneurs and managers in the Balinese hospitality sector.

One main take out of the webinar is the need to invest in local solutions also in circular procurement. The need to share best practices was also expressed, and it was particularly impressive to see the readiness of Lauren to share all the sustainable solutions that they developed at Potatohead (varying from decomposing bad slippers to design chairs of reused plastic) with her colleagues on Bali.
